Papers concerning the sale of a tract of land known as Sion Hill in Prince George County, Virginia, and the subsequent suit filed by the purchaser, Noel Quesnel, against the seller, Thomas Woodlief, in 1796. Included are copies of an abstract of the case, a 1794 survey of the property and a typed transcription, as well as other maps showing the location of the property.

The Court of Appeals was established January 1, 1985 to handle mainly civil matters. Ten judges are elected for terms of eight years. No judge, while sitting on the Court, is permitted to practice law. From their rank, the judges will elect a chief judge who will serve a four-year term.
